UAE President Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Arrives in Angola for State Visit

President His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan has landed in Angola, marking a key step toward strengthening political and economic partnerships between the UAE and the southern African nation.

During the visit, Sheikh Mohamed is scheduled to hold talks with Angolan President João Manuel Lourenço, focusing on trade, renewable energy, digital innovation, and infrastructure development.

Growing UAE–Angola Relations

Diplomatic ties between the two nations, established in 1997, have expanded steadily, with recent years showing significant progress:

  • Non-oil trade reached $2.2 billion in 2024, a 36.3% increase compared to 2019.
  • In 2021, multiple memoranda of understanding were signed, including:
