Dubai Fountain to Reopen October 1 with Stunning Upgrades

Dubai, UAE – One of the city’s most iconic attractions, the Dubai Fountain, is set to make a grand return on October 1, 2025, after months of redevelopment aimed at enhancing both its performances and the surrounding visitor experience.

Located between Dubai Mall, Souk Al Bahar, and the Address Fountain Views, the world’s largest performing fountain has been closed since April 19, 2025, for major upgrades. The transformation includes advanced water choreography, enhanced lighting effects, and a completely redesigned floor to better preserve the fountain’s water system.

What’s New at the Dubai Fountains

When the Dubai Mall water fountain shows resume, visitors can expect even more dazzling displays. The upgraded system will feature:

  • Advanced robotics to control water movement and lighting
  • Improved choreography synchronized with world-class music
  • A cutting-edge sound and lighting system for a more immersive experience
  • Water jets capable of spraying 22,000 gallons up to 140 meters into the air

The attraction’s new concrete flooring will provide better insulation, ensuring the longevity of the performances and reducing maintenance issues that previously caused cracks in the surface.

Dubai Mall Fountain Show Times After Reopening

While the official Dubai Mall fountain show times after reopening are yet to be confirmed, the performances are expected to follow a similar schedule to before – multiple evening shows starting from sunset and continuing until late at night, with occasional daytime shows on weekends and public holidays.

Enhancements During the Closure

To maintain the vibrancy of the promenade during the closure, Emaar has installed 500 meters of state-of-the-art digital screens along the waterfront. These screens display dynamic visuals and interactive content, ensuring the area remains a prime spot for visitors.

In a gesture of support, Emaar has also waived rent for 50 restaurants and cafés with lake-facing terraces between June and September, recognizing the temporary drop in footfall while the fountain is offline.

Why the Dubai Fountain Matters

The Dubai Fountains are not only a major tourist draw but also a favorite among residents. Situated against the backdrop of the Burj Khalifa, the nightly shows combine artistry, engineering, and music into one of the most unforgettable experiences in the city.

Emaar founder Mohamed Alabbar emphasized the landmark’s importance, stating, “For years, the Dubai Fountain and its surrounding lake have played a vital role in attracting millions of visitors. As we usher in a new era, we remain committed to supporting our partners and delivering a world-class experience.”

With the reopening date approaching, visitors and residents alike can look forward to a more spectacular Dubai Mall fountain show than ever before.
