Pakistan Independence Day 2025 Celebrated with Grand Flag-Hoisting in UAE

The Embassy of Pakistan in Abu Dhabi marked Pakistan Independence Day 2025 with a grand flag-hoisting ceremony, celebrating national pride and unity. Thousands of Pakistani community members and their families attended, making it the largest Pakistan Independence Day gathering abroad.

Ambassador Faisal Niaz Tirmizi welcomed the guests and highlighted the guiding principles of Unity, Faith, and Discipline, underscoring their importance for Pakistan’s ongoing socio-economic growth. He also offered prayers for the peace, stability, and prosperity of the nation.

Reflecting on Pakistan’s resilience, the Ambassador paid tribute to the nation’s strength in the face of challenges, citing historic milestones like Marka-e-Haq and Operation Bunyan-um-Marsoos. He also lauded the Pakistani diaspora for their constructive contributions to both the UAE and Pakistan, including USD 7.9 billion in remittances last year.

The Ambassador announced a new online system for tracking passports and NICOPs to streamline consular services. He also celebrated educational achievements, with two community schools earning a “Good” ranking for the first time in 20 years and encouraging more Pakistani private schools to expand in the UAE.

The 14 August Independence Day 2025 event at Dubai Expo City drew around 60,000 attendees, setting a record for the largest celebration of Pakistan Independence Day outside the country.

The festivities included performances of national songs by schoolchildren and the unveiling of portraits of Quaid-i-Azam Muhammad Ali Jinnah and Allama Muhammad Iqbal, enhancing the patriotic spirit.

Ambassador Tirmizi expressed gratitude to the UAE government for supporting this unprecedented celebration and reinforcing strong Pakistan-UAE ties.

As Pakistanis worldwide wish each other a Happy Independence Day, this year’s event highlighted the strength, unity, and achievements of the community abroad.
