UAE Appoints New Ministers of State

DUBAI, 9 September 2025 – His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President, Prime Minister, and Ruler of Dubai, has announced significant ministerial appointments in the UAE Government, following directives from President Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan.

The appointments include:

• Lana Zaki Nusseibeh as Minister of State
• Saeed Mubarak Rashed Al Hajeri as Minister of State

Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid stated, “After consultations with President Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, we appoint Lana Nusseibeh and Saeed Al Hajeri as Ministers of State. We wish them success in fulfilling their duties and thank all UAE national teams for their continued dedication.”

Lana Zaki Nusseibeh: Extensive Diplomatic Experience

• Served as Assistant Minister of Foreign Affairs for Political Affairs
• UAE Permanent Representative to the United Nations (Sept 2013 – Apr 2024)
• Co-chaired UN Security Council Reform Negotiations (2017–2019)
• Chaired Executive Board of UN Women in 2017
• Vice President of the United Nations General Assembly
• Co-Chair, Ad Hoc Working Group on Revitalisation of the General Assembly (2016–2017)
• Co-Chair, Friends of the Future of the United Nations Group with the UK since 2015

Her appointments reflect the UAE’s continued focus on international diplomacy and UN engagement.

Saeed Mubarak Rashed Al Hajeri: Strategic Leadership in Economic Affairs

• Current Chairman of the Emirates Medicines Foundation (since June 2025)
• Former Assistant Minister of Foreign Affairs for Economic and Trade Affairs
• Holds a Bachelor’s in Business Administration from Lewis & Clark College, US
• Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) and Harvard Executive Education alumnus
