Dubai Airport Unveils World’s First AI Immigration Corridor

DUBAI: Travelers at Dubai International Airport (DXB) can now pass through immigration in seconds without handing over passports or boarding passes, thanks to a groundbreaking artificial intelligence-powered passenger corridor – the first of its kind worldwide.

How the AI Passenger Corridor Works

The corridor uses biometric recognition and pre-verified digital data to identify passengers instantly as they walk through.

  • No stopping at counters
  • No need to show documents
  • Groups of up to 10 people can be cleared at once

If the system detects irregularities, profiles are immediately flagged and directed to forgery experts for manual inspection, ensuring passenger security remains intact.

Why It Matters

Dubai officials say the innovation supports the emirate’s vision of “boundless travel” by:

  • Reducing waiting times at immigration
  • Improving travel efficiency during peak seasons
  • Enhancing Dubai’s role as a global leader in smart travel solutions

Travel Demand at DXB

DXB remains the world’s busiest hub for international passenger traffic in 2024, according to Airports Council International. Between 13–25 August 2025, the airport expects:

  • 3.6 million passengers total
  • 280,000 daily travelers on average
  • Over 290,000 passengers on peak day 15 August

Official Launch

The system was officially introduced by the General Directorate of Identity and Foreigners Affairs in Dubai, led by Lieutenant General Mohammed Ahmed Al Marri.
