Dubai Police Wrap Up Fifth Esports Tournament With 1,500 Gamers and AED 200,000 in Prizes

Dubai, UAE – Dubai Police have successfully concluded the fifth edition of their Esports Tournament, held at the Dubai Police Officers Club from August 14 to 17. The event drew more than 1,500 gamers from diverse nationalities, including international participants, competing across eight major titles.

With a prize pool of AED 200,000, the tournament welcomed both male and female players aged 10 to 35, showcasing the UAE’s growing role as a hub for competitive gaming.

Leadership Presence

The closing ceremony was attended by several senior Dubai Police officials, including:

  • Maj. Gen. Dr. Mohammed Issa Al Adhab – Acting Director of the General Department of Logistic Support
  • Brig. Dr. Abdul Rahman Sharaf Al Mammari – Director of the International Hemaya Centre
  • Maj. Abdullah Al Shehhi – Director of the Cyber Crimes Department
  • Maj. Adel Mohammed Hassan – Director of the Officers Club
  • Ms. Fatima Buhajeer – Chairperson of the Positive Spirit Council

Maj. Gen. Al Adhab praised the strong participation and highlighted the tournament’s role in:

  • Encouraging responsible online gaming
  • Educating youth about cyber safety risks
  • Strengthening community ties through esports

“These tournaments are not only about competition but also about promoting awareness, responsibility, and creating a safer gaming environment,” Al Adhab emphasized.
