The Roads and Transport Authority (RTA) has completed a large-scale upgrade of wayfinding signage across all Dubai Metro stations, introducing clearer navigation tools to simplify passenger movement and enhance daily commutes.
This project, carried out in partnership with Keolis–MHI, involved the replacement and installation of 9,000 signs, requiring nearly 11,000 workhours across the Red and Green lines.

According to Hassan Al Mutawa, Director of Rail Operations at RTA’s Rail Agency, the overhaul was designed to make journeys smoother and ensure commuters can move seamlessly within stations. The improvements include:
- New entry and exit signs: Entrances and exits now feature bright yellow markers for higher visibility.
- Directional guidance: Platform indicators and floor stickers guide passengers towards the correct lines, reducing confusion and improving flow.
- Behavioural etiquette reminders: Stickers placed in waiting areas encourage respect and proper use of public transport.
- Dedicated cabins: Clear signage now highlights the Women and Children Cabin (pink boards) and Gold Class Cabin (gold boards), replacing old floor markings to reduce unauthorised access.
