RTA Begins Major Traffic Improvements at Nad Al Hamar Intersection

Dubai’s Roads and Transport Authority (RTA) has started road upgrades at Nad Al Hamar Intersection to improve traffic flow from Ras Al Khor Road and Al Rebat Street. The works include building a new 850-metre lane from Ras Al Khor Road towards the intersection, near Nasser Bin Lootah Mosque, and widening the storage lane for vehicles turning left from Al Rebat Street.
Part of the 2025 Rapid Traffic Improvements – Summer Plan, the project is set to finish by the end of August. It aims to ease congestion, improve road safety, and make daily travel smoother for residents.
Once completed, the new lane will increase road capacity by 33%, from 4,800 to 6,400 vehicles per hour, and reduce peak travel times from 15 minutes to 11 minutes – a 27% improvement during evening rush hour. The widened storage lane will also cut queue times for vehicles turning left, improving overall flow towards Ras Al Khor Road.
These upgrades will benefit drivers heading to Nad Al Hamar, Al Rashidiya, Al Qusais, and Dubai International Airport, enhancing connections between neighbourhoods and key destinations across Dubai.
